Standard Food Grade Silicone
Stigall FDA silicone material are used in the manufacturing, packaging, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transportation and holding food with repeated use.
The vast majority of Food Grade Silicone is produced in “White”. We offer this product in 40, 50, 60, & 70 Durometers.
The Stigall compounds can be processed into Sheets, Gaskets, Extrusions and Molded shapes.
Metal Detectable FDA Products
Stigall Metal Detectable Product line is a metal detectable silicone rubber that can be detected by integrated metal detectors fitted along the processing lines.
In the event of eroding particles from a silicone seal entering the process line, such particles will be identified. The production process can then be quickly stopped, contaminated products segregated and the process modified to overcome the problem.
The commercial benefit for the manufacturer is that the risk of production downtime and the probability of waste being produced will be greatly reduced due to the properties of the product, enabling early detection of contamination.
Concerns within the food and beverage industry about by-products originating from processing equipment entering the process lines are widespread.
A particular concern expressed by several of our clients across the world is the risk of rubber sealing particles from machinery used in the manufacturing process, contaminating production lines.
With the advent of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) enacted by congress in 2011, Stigall introduced our new line of Metal Detectable FDA Silicone products. The new Metal Detectable product line allows for small fragments of broken or torn gaskets & O-Rings to be identified and removed prior to packaging. This product line will help customers maintain their compliance with the FDA FSMA regulations.
Food Grade Silicone & Metal Detectable are available in sheets, extrusions, and molded shapes.
